Really Live Music Presents:
Sari Schorr Band + Mike Vernon’s Mighty Combo
Live at Borderline, Soho
A jaw-dropping voice and a live show that erupts like a volcano have catapulted Sari Schorr into the spotlight as one of the hottest new Blues-Rock singers today. The native New Yorker is taking the Blues world by storm, and with a voice that jolted legendary blues producer Mike Vernon (think Fleetwood Mac, Clapton, and Bowie) out of retirement, it’s not hard to see why. It’s no wonder that Blues Matterssaid, “The future of blues is in good hands. Sari is a gift to all of us from the Blues Gods.”
Now with a new, electrifying band, including one of the most exciting young contemporary guitar players and singers on the blues scene today: Ash Wilson, nominated as Best Blues guitarist of 2017 by Total Guitar magazine.
“‘First Lady of the Blues’… it’s a struggle to think of anyone else right now who deserves the title more than Sari Schorr. Tunes such as ‘Aunt Hazel’ that really highlights just how good Sari Schorr is at invoking passion, grit, empathy and out-and-out rock in a single number” — Chris High, Planet Mosh
Mike Vernon is probably best known as the founder of Britain’s #1 blues record label, Blue Horizon. He has also produced award-winning albums and singles for the likes of David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac Level 42, Focus, Bo Diddley and US Soul group , Bloodstone. In 2000, Mike retired and moved to Spain. But in 2010 Mike Vernon came out of retirement to produce both Dani Wilde and Oli Brown for Ruf Records and a ‘live’ set with Louisiana legend, Lazy Lester. Most recently he has been working with Sari Schorr and very occasionally appearing with his own Blues supergroup, Mike Vernon’s Mighty Combo.
